Cathryn Blair Cummings and Sky Walker Bennett were united in marriage Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Gene Street Memorial Rose Garden, Chapel Hill. The Reverend Mark Hall officiated. Following the ceremony, the reception was held at The Weathervane. On Friday evening, the rehearsal dinner was held at The Carolina Inn.
The bride is the daughter of Rhonda Dillingham and William Edmund Perdue III of Asheboro and the late Jeffrey Alan Cummings. She is the granddaughter of Milton and Wylene Dillingham and Raymond and Evelyn Cress and Phyllis Perdue. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in English and German.
The groom is the son of Susan Bennett of Suwanee, Tenn. and Jay and Gisele Bennett of Atlanta, Ga. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in German. He will be attending law school at the University of Georgia Law School this fall.
The bride was attended by Amanda Stotlmann of Cary, N.C. as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Summer Bennett of Tampa, Fla. and Lilliam Rodermond of Nederland, Colo., sisters of the groom. The junior bridesmaids were Elizabeth Peyton Perdue of Asheboro, sister of the bride, and Anna Rebekah Panel of Wake Forest, N.C., cousin of the bride. The flower girls were Sophia Shaw of Summerfield, N.C., cousin of the bride, and Darwi Rodermond of Nederland, Colo., niece of the groom.
The groom chose Andrew Goetschalckx of Atlanta, Ga. as best man. Groomsmen were Cody Braun, Jeremy Rahm, Paul Hartley and Will Niver, all of Chapel Hill, N.C.
The couple are honeymooning in their new home in Athens, Ga.
